Performance of Etched Silica FBG for Simultaneous Strain Temperature Measurement

In this paper, we have proposed an etched silica Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) based interrogation technique using optical spectrum analyser (OSA). The efficiency of the system has extensively been investigated for measuring temperature and strain simultaneously with higher sensitivity accuracy covering a larger measurement range. A Single mode-Multi mode-Single mode fiber (SMS) which acts as bandpass filter is employed in circuitry efficient fast technique. We recorded remarkable enhancement 20.30 pm/°C 2.89 pm/μɛ over range 25–225 °C 50–2050 μɛ, respectively. These data were resolution ±10 μɛ whereas ±0.50 °C. experimental results show capability sensor intrinsic resolution. performance compared various reported techniques.
